People don’t like the animatronics in FNAF’s new trailer. This one detail is distracting

2 days ago we had a chance to see the official trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s, and people are already asking for changes.

The first official trailer for the film adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s was released on May 17, 2023. It’s only been 2 days since its publication, and the trailer has already been viewed by nearly 15 million people from around the world. What’s more, in many countries, the trailer is still holding the top spot on the time card.

The film Five Nights at Freddy’s has been anticipated for a long time. That’s why when the first information about it came, the world even went crazy. Now that there’s an official trailer, fans were finally able to get a closer look at the details, especially what the animatronics look like. And while first impressions were very positive, now this one detail has started to bother people a lot.

What change do FNAF’s cinematic animatronics need?

While initial impressions of the trailer were full of excitement, it took some time for fans to cool down and take a closer look at the details it presents. The plot and cast seem promising, and the animatronics do indeed look sensational… except for one detail.

People mainly on Reddit after the release of the latest trailer drew attention to the eyes of the animatronics, which glow red in the film’s trailer. They look completely different from those in the game, which according to fans, takes away their “charm” and makes them less scary.

In the game, the animatronics’ eyes were usually blank and dark, which people thought added more mystery to whether they were there at all. One person wrote under the post that perhaps the directors decided on such a move so that it would be easier for the viewer to distinguish between their daytime and nighttime forms when they “come to life.”

People who have never played the game, but decide to go to the cinema to see Five Nights at Freddy’s, will probably not pay attention to it at all. However, for loyal fans, such a change is much worse and is said to be discouraging, since the film is supposed to be a horror movie, and the filmmakers definitely “downplayed the scariness” of the main characters. After all, it was supposedly the cut-out eyes of the characters that were the most frightening.

The trailer, however, provides only about 50-second impressions of the film. Perhaps it will turn out that the filmmakers have not shown everything they have to offer and are keeping their ace up their sleeve. Everything will turn out in the next trailers or directly in theaters. One thing is certain – it is definitely worth the wait.
