The Overwatch player with a signed NDA with Blizzard was supposed to spill the beans. Everything starts to come together?
Overwatch is a game of speculations not for months, but for years. And there is constantly more of them.
Overwatch at this point is like connecting different dots, which are very easy to over-interpret. For example, TimTheTatman, the popular YouTuber, announced his return to Overwatch a week ago, as a result of which many people expected big announcements:
Meanwhile, the YouTuber streamed, complained about the problems that Overwatch currently has and that’s it. No big announcements, just like that. However, Overwatch fans see something more in it – the return of really popular creators who may not announce anything big now, but that is about to change.
Overwatch 2 closer than we think?
The return of YouTubers coincided with somewhat cryptic entries from Blizzard himself, indicating that something could happen soon.
Mike Yabarra (Head of Blizzard Entertainment) not only writes about Blizzard titles, he even streamed Overwatch yesterday:
On top of that, let’s add ‘Investor Call’, the upcoming Overwatch League, which is set to take place on the early Overwatch 2 build, and Blizzard’s mysterious encounters with influencers. At this point, you could have guessed that all this was leading to something.
However, there was no final confirmation, a clamp that would fasten the speculation and connect all the dots into one whole. Such a clamp can be one of the materials of a YouTuber with the nickname “WorstSombra”.
Of course, it should not be taken as something confirmed, but in the video, there is interesting information reportedly from the person who has the NDA signed.
- More information will be available around the 3rd week of February 2022,
- The meeting itself, which was so loud, was mostly about news in the game, it was about influencers, not esports.
The influencer himself comes to the conclusion that this may mean that the premiere of Overwatch 2 will take place next month, but you should take it with a pinch of salt. Blizzard might just as well announce an alpha/beta, or a new appearance for the next character.
You must divide the information from YouTubers by two or more because while it is all very exciting, there is no way to confirm it.
