The interest in Overwatch 2 is so great that the conversation with the developers was watched by 4,000 people

In theory, Blizzard knows more, has plans, knows how to communicate, and in practice, some really strange things are happening around Overwatch 2.

After all these years, it’s hard not to get the impression that Blizzard still doesn’t know how to work by today’s standards. The Overwatch 2 beta was announced, which was actually not the beta of the second game, but only a test of a reworked PvP mode. The communication around this area, however, was so strange and twisted that people completely missed it.

The technical testing is over, and the topic of Overwatch 2 went quiet. People obviously became very disaffected with the title because of the very inflated beta that turned out to be altered PvP without PvE.

And the effect of it is this

Blizzard developers appeared on the streams of two people, revealing interesting information there. Only that the interest in Overwatch 2 has decreased so that the streams were watched by a total of less than 4,000 people.

It’s possible that all of this will bounce back because it’s beta after all. But these numbers, the general interest, and the mood of the community don’t fare well. You can see that the interest is there, but hardly anyone follows this type of thing, such as streams with developers, and further balance changes.

Is it bad? It’s easy to add a narrative here. “Overwatch 2 is a flop and nobody cares.” However, you need to take an amendment to all of this – these are only technical tests of the revised PvP, and not a full-fledged beta of Overwatch 2 with the mode that is to play the main role here, i.e. PvE. However, it certainly cannot be said that everything is fine and going according to plan. Blizzard certainly expected more interest.

Can you learn anything interesting from these streams? Of course. The only problem is that no one is very interested in it, at least not from outside this indigenous community. Hardly anyone outside the Overwatch community will even be interested in what stage OW2 is at, and that’s probably the biggest problem right now.
