Overwatch 2 underwent a major update last night. What changed while the game was not available?

Overwatch 2 was unavailable at night for several hours. What has changed?

Overwatch 2 really has a chance to succeed, while at the moment the biggest obstacle is technical problems. A lot of things can be blamed on DDOS attacks, but definitely Blizzard has not done the transfer of OW1 to OW2 correctly.

Leaving aside what failed and why, Blizzard definitely needs to start doing more. The developers are aware of this, which is why the first big patch was rolled out last night, which should improve the situation.

What has changed today?

First of all, the login problems have been corrected. In short, it is supposed to be better. Longer version:

The second issue is the restoration of items that have disappeared. Blizzard writes that roughly half of the reports about this issue come from people who haven’t fully linked their accounts. The other half are actual delays – a re-logging is recommended. The developers assure that no player data has been lost.

The solution to the blocked characters is supposed to be to relog.

In the official announcement, Blizzard lists dozens of known bugs, both technical and strictly gameplay-related. There are incorrect prices, errors with the black screen, etc. It’s clear that the studio is gathering feedback and will be making the needed fixes one by one.

There are also bugs that have already been fixed. Among them, free emoticons (in the next patch they will be for everyone).

It should get better every day. Today, coming into the game after work or school, you should feel the difference.
