In the world of games and cinema, more and more series or movies based on famous computer games are coming out. Some of the most popular ones from recent years include Tomb Raider, Uncharted, and even the latest The Last of Us, which beat out all previous screen adaptations upon its release.
In addition to this, more and more animated films based on games have been made recently, such as Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, Sonic, and even Super Mario Bros. These types of films are gaining popularity, paving the way for more titles that would like to try their hand at the big screen.
Zelda and Link will appear in theaters?
After the recent success of Super Mario Bros, which premiered at the beginning of April this year, more game publishers have started thinking about bringing their production to cinema screens. It seems that this type of screen adaptations of computer games have been really popular recently, so it turns out that this is a pretty good way to promote one’s product.
In a recent interview with Polygon, the creators of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi – confessed that they are interested in creating a film adaptation of their game.
I have to say, I am interested. For sure. But it’s not just me being interested in something that makes things happen, unfortunately – Aonuma said.
Maybe the voice of the fans is what’s important here – Fujibayashi added.
It seems that the creators care most about the voice of their community. They are willing to create such a film, as long as they know that Zelda fans would like to see this type of film with actors. At this point it’s unclear whether such work will be created at all, perhaps the directors need more time for feedback from players.
