Portals will appear in Fortnite, allowing you to quickly get from one end of the map to the other

According to the latest information, Fortnite will have a portal mechanic that will allow you to quickly move around the island.

The first leaks about portals appeared a few months ago. At that time, it was known just that they would appear. Today, leakers have more information on this subject, although it is still more of a tip than a ready-made mechanic to be introduced.

Certainly Epic is experimenting with portals that allow you to move around the island faster. However, it is not known when they will be introduced or how exactly they will work.

Portals in Fortnite

Portals are supposed to resemble or even be the same ones that were added in Season 5 of Chapter 2. They will be created using a special mechanic related to the Reality Tree seedling.

The portal will send a beam of light into the sky and take the player somewhere on the map. It is not known whether this place will be chosen somehow, what will be the range etc.

HYPEX is betting it might look just like Wraith in Apex Legends. There, it is used more to surprise opponents or run away. This is probably Epic’s plan for this season.
