He bought and sold Fortnite accounts and bots. Epic just beat him in court. $120,000 of losses
Epic won another court case against an influencer who made a business with stolen accounts.
Fortnite has had a very big cheater problem lately. They have learned to deal with anti-cheat and equipment bans. As a result, more and more people with aimbots, wallhacks, etc. appear in Epic’s game. Fortnite developers took an example from Riot and began to sue people responsible for distributing and creating cheats.
Thus, a case was brought to court in Australia against one of the influencers who had his own store where Fortnite accounts and bots were sold. It was one of the largest stores of this type in the world.
In total, the TikToker was supposed to sell between 4,000 and 10,000 “products”. This is mainly due to his TikTok, which was watched by nearly 300,000 people.
Over $120,000 losses
The lawsuit included AU$ 182,000, which Epic reportedly lost. It is about $ 120,000
Epic has won the court battle and the player has to make amends to the developers. Epic forced an influencer to donate money to a charity and post a public apology on social media.
It was mainly about malicious activity – selling accounts that were mostly stolen, extorting, breaking passwords and trading cheats.
