Epic is trying to avoid lawsuits this way, and Fortnite players are starting to see it
For some time now, Fortnite players have been able to see the number of these original emotes dwindling. Why is this happening?
If you haven’t been buying emotes for a while because you don’t feel the need to do so, don’t worry. More and more people do. Mainly because Epic has stopped releasing new classic emotes that rely on dancing.
Starting with Chapter 2 of Season 3, a total of two such emotes have been released. And although it is hard to believe, it actually is the case. Why? Well, Epic probably wants to avoid possible lawsuits this way.
No more classic emotes?
As user “vandtex” shows, Epic has virtually completely abandoned the creation of classic emotes. As other users point out, the explanation can be very simple.
What is this Classic Emote? This is a kind of emote that is obviously a dance while not having copyrighted music. The lack of such emotes is a way to license everything and avoid possible lawsuits – these, although Epic always wins, are incredibly media-friendly.
Epic gives the appropriate copyright to the people who invented the emotes. And it makes sense, since the last classic emote, “It’s complicated”, ended with… a lawsuit.
