Russian players are banned on Polish CSGO servers with a very telling message about the war
Russian players are not and are unlikely to be banned from CS: GO itself or on Steam. However, they are banned on servers.
The CS: GO community is facing tough decisions. The esports world is still wondering if Russian professional players should be excluded from tournaments. In theory, everyone is calling for unity, but there are already stronger and stronger voices that since the Russian representation in football is excluded, consequences should also be drawn in CS: GO.
This is why specific servers are doing for now. Entering them from the Russian IP, messages about the exclusion of Russian players due to their invasion of Ukraine appear.
Bans for Russian CS: GO players
One of the videos that show the message that Russian players see became viral. It leaves no illusions that it is about the war and what is happening in Ukraine at that moment.
“Reason: Your country has invaded Ukraine. You are not allowed to join this server before war ends.”
The video has been shown on TikTok several hundred thousand times. It arose mixed feelings in the community, but the pressure to generally ban Russians from CS: GO continues to grow.
